How Do Supreme Mathematics Function?

Unpack: To undo or remove the contents from (a box, trunk, etc.). To remove (something) from a container, suitcase, etc.. To unburden, as the mind; reveal. To decipher or discern.

Sometimes it is not about the baggage we carry. We all carry some kind of baggage. In some instances, we have not unpacked that baggage, that is the issue. What further complicates this is that many of us have never learned how or where to start unpacking that baggage. I am eternally thankful to have had the kind of parents who at least exposed me to this sense of self-analysis and some of the psychological skills to unpack some of the baggage that I've accumulated over the years. I am also grateful for the cultural perspective of the Five Percent and those who have assisted and still assist me along my journey. My family dynamics coupled with knowledge of self has given me an excellent foundation to accurately look at myself, the world around me and my responses to that world.

I've shared on many occasions that my Ole Earth [Mother] was like the Oracle from The Matrix with a Richard Pryor sense of humor. She went to college in her mid forties and became a Social Psychologist in three years as a wife and mother of seven children. One evening while I sat at the kitchen counter doing my homework and she sat at the table doing her homework she called my name. As I lifted my head to look at her she slowly removed her glasses and lifted up her thick textbook from the table and said, "This is the white man's bible. You better learn everything you can about it." I was a teen at the time and clearly heard what she said yet I was not at a place in my growth and development to understand or appreciate the depth of that statement. In fact, it often took me years to grasp some of the things she shared. Not because I was blind, deaf or dumb, sometimes I just did not have the life experiences as reference points to assess what she was saying. For example, as a preadolescent she would often say, "You have to study their family dynamics" in regards to girls. "You're going to be getting with her whole family so you better know what you're getting into" she would add. THAT went right through one ear and right out the other. Again, not because I was ignant. I just didn't know what to do with that and yeah, I didn't ask. It took me decades to understand the importance of those statements.

As the Five Percent, unbeknownst to even some of us, we have many self-analysis tools in our cultural chest to start unpacking or discerning who we are. Religions provide some self-analysis tools as well but how many people actually identify and use them? Not many, for various reasons. With all of the problems in this world, and potential solutions, our human family can greatly benefit from such tools.
So when I say "tools", what do I mean in regards to the Five Percent? Well one of the most obvious are Supreme Mathematics. As principles of life, Supreme Mathematics are like instruments or psychological and sociological tools that are used to carry out a particular function. What function? Civilization and Righteousness. I say civilization and righteousness because none of the Supreme Mathematics represent or even imply something that is dishonorable, immoral or malevolent. For example, devil is not a principle in Supreme Mathematics. In fact, devil is neither in our Supreme Alphabet. This is to say that as Five Percenters our cultural worldview or what we fundamentally teach is not emphasizing the obvious shortcomings, failings and deficiencies of someone outside of us. We don't overlook that, we explicitly cover shortcomings, failings and deficiencies within the context of our lessons [120]. And these lessons highlight periods of time where learning occurred for our people, sometimes in relationship to shortcomings, failings and deficiencies. In terms of psychological and social orientation, Five Percenters advocate a strength-based approach towards living and assessing who we are. This means that we concentrate on our self-determination and inherent strengths, not what would be considered deficits. This orientation is reflected in our language, with the specific words and phrases we use such as knowledge, wisdom, understanding, "Peace God" and "True I Master Equality [Time]", and even in the righteous names we choose for ourselves such as Divine, Queen, Wisdom, Supreme and etc. Our emphasis is on who we are, and what we need to do as standards of civilization and righteousness, regardless what others choose to do. We don't ignore what others do. For us, it's about what we choose and how we choose to respond to situations, all while maintaining our civilization and righteousness. In fact, here is a series on Supreme Mathematics I've started to

The above paragraph doesn't describe a cake walk. It describes a daily effort to be consistent and concise about how we positively see ourselves and how we responsibly attend a society that doesn't have the healthiest view of humanity. Those who seek to address this issue have their approaches, whether its religious, secular, spiritual or metaphysical. As the Five Percent, we have ours. Some approaches or even tools are similar among the human family, some are not. Supreme Mathematics are not witch hunt materials, nor are they inquisition devices. They are life principles that serve as self-analysis tools to start unpacking or discerning who we are. As we grow and understand these principles deeper, we also become a greater resource to those in our family, community and city who need to be rightly guided. The process of unpacking is removing the contents that are within, not putting something inside. Some people incorrectly think that gaining KOS [Knowledge Of Self] is the process of depositing something inside of them. That is part of it, yet one must first assess their available space. Meaning, we must take time to unpack what needs to be unlearned before having a capacity to learn anything. Part of an Educator's responsibility is to assist that person in identifying available space and how to make room to receive something. Sometimes that may mean a referral to a professional. This unpacking process is not something that's done on a weekend retreat, a 3 hour lecture, a few meetings, a rally, an event or a relationship. This is a continual process of assessing ourselves, sometimes with counseling. The custom of building with one another by asking, "How do you see today's mathematics?" and "How do your see today's degree?" is a part of this self assessment process. It's not only done to test or challenge what another Five Percenter knows and understands; because nowadays there are many who claim to be us but they are not. It's done because Five Percenters are scientists of life and building is the oral presentation of one's work/research to other members of our scientific community for peer review. Answering questions such as "How do you see today's mathematics?" and "How do your see today's degree?" give members an opportunity to mutually share their work/research. And just like any scientist, upon review of that work/research, if something needs to be added on or taken away, we go back to the lab and make the appropriate adjustments. In fact, here is a series I started on Supreme Mathematics to demonstrate how these self-analysis tools can be used: Supreme Mathematics Series

Unpacking our identity or unburdening the mind to decipher or discern who we are requires more than Supreme Mathematics. If we haven't first committed ourselves to honestly assessing and removing the unnecessary contents within, we will be without -even while holding Supreme Mathematics. The same goes for people who hold fast to the bible, koran, other books or philosophies about life. The daily inner work is what manifests the outer reality. All of these tools are only as valuable as our ability to use them. And we cannot successfully use them if we have no room where to put them.

Are 120 Lessons Still Relevant?

Within recent years and with the present day political climate I've been seeing more and more people who consider(ed) themselves Five Percenters publicly denouncing the value and our custom of learning, reciting and teaching 120 lessons. It begs the question, “Is 120 still relevant?”

Those of you who've been checking out my videos, articles, books, music, radio shows, youth advocacy and community outreach over the years know that the value of 120 is something I've consistently shared throughout these mediums. There are two reasons I've consistently done this: 1.) To show those of us who have 120, or who are learning 120, practical ways to apply it to life and 2.) To encourage those who don't have 120 to consider its practical value. Over twenty years ago when I began studying the lessons through my Educator/Enlightener Raheem, I invested a considerable amount of time striving to show and prove them. I was a sophomore in college and I damn near lived in the library; I studied there for hours and was employed there for work study. As I evolved I also began to seek out people to debate, like a swordsman striving to test the sharpness of his blade and technique of his teachings. Through these philosophical battles and intellectual jousting matches I eventually realized that I was really trying to show and prove this to myself. Internally I really wasn’t sure how full proof these lessons were and I needed to test them.

When I hear someone who consider(ed) themselves Five Percenters minimize, diminish or disassociate themselves from the lessons I always wonder what they no longer identify with, specifically. Is it the meaning of civilization and/or the duty of a civilized person? What is a real devil? Not believing in the teachings of the 10%? Giving all they have and doing all within their power? If given the opportunity, I think it would be a very insightful discussion to go through each degree with a person like this to see what they actually disagree with and their reasoning behind that disagreement. What I think would be revealed in most cases is this person wasn’t studious and never really researched these lessons and/or the principles and values they did learn in these lessons they simply aren’t committed to. In my journey in this nation I have yet to meet someone who shared a legitimate reason why they personally don’t deal with the lessons. What I have met are people who are often uncomfortable with the peer group pressure that comes along with being expected to know, recite and understand these lessons. Some don’t like being questioned or being expected to respond to people. Although they may not feel this way about their school teachers or employers, they do feel this way about their peers; oftentimes because they think they’re better than them. Whatever their reasoning is, they often strive to find this comfortable niche where they get the acknowledgement, respect and benefits of Five Percenter status without being questioned and held accountable to the group [collective] of Five Percenters. Sometimes instead of moving on to use what they’ve learned from us to be a cyclops in the land of blind, they’ll hang around to be a pop shot critic. Everything someone does they’ll have something negative to say about it and when a Five Percenter responds by questioning them they’ll simply say, “I’m not a Five Percenter.” So now you have a person who can use your system to check/neutralize you but you're unable to hold them to the same standard. I elaborate on games like this, and the way we need to respond to them, in my book GAMES.

NYC Map with Landmarks

120 lessons are like 120 landmarks on a map of human geography. Some of these landmarks represent actual people, places, things and events. Some of these landmarks are also symbols of people, places, things or events. Whether these landmarks are actual or symbolic, our exposure to them plays a critical role in how we begin to see, define and navigate this map of human geography. The first lesson or landmark we learn is who the original man [and woman] is. Because I know and have studied this extensively, my view of the world, and how I attend it, is very different than someone who does not know this. If we were both looking at a city landscape, this is one landmark of importance to me that is either unseen or not of equal importance to someone else. This would be no different than a person driving by a gated enclosure they rarely noticed until someone proudly brought it to their attention that several of their family members are buried there going back six generations. What one person drives past, another person makes it a point to stop and visit. Neither is right or wrong, I am simply pointing out how we navigate life and that our GPS [Global Positioning Device] is determined by what’s in our head. So when someone who had or has lessons no longer uses them on this map of human geography, we must ask ourselves what device are they using to globally position themselves? I’ve heard some Five Percenters say Supreme Mathematics. Well mathematics don’t tell us anything about ethics, morality or people, places, things and events. Supreme Mathematics tell us who God is yet there is no mention of the Devil. Without the lessons they also don’t know about specific people, places, things and events that expound upon the power dynamics between God and the Devil. For a person to minimize, diminish or disassociate themselves from that information is dangerous, especially in today’s political climate. This doesn’t mean that a person like this can’t show you anything or take you anywhere. I am questioning the starting location their GPS is now set at. If they no longer claim to be a Five Percenter, then what’s their location now? If it’s a just “God”, what kind of God? If it’s a Muslim-God, Goddess, Spiritual Being or etc, what kind? If it is unclear…, then it may not be in your best interest to travel with them because none of you have any idea what the destination is. Yes, just because someone has 120 or because a pilot has flying experience it doesn’t mean they won’t crash the plane. Yet at least you know what this pilot’s credentials are on paper, you have some sense of expectancy of their flight experience and there’s pressure on them in regards to reaching their said destination because they’re a part of company [collective]. Who would you rather take a chance traveling with, them or someone who says they aren’t a pilot anymore, they don’t deal with the flight instructions they learned and they’re not with a company?

There are times I get frustrated with the state of our nation. Particularly the lack of studiousness, youth advocacy and community outreach I see in different areas. Sometimes it’s the "Conscious Catfishing"; people using social media to make fake persona's as builders when they’re virtually unknown and/or inactive in their own neighborhoods and cities. Just because I don’t dwell on it, comment on it or post about it on social media it doesn’t mean that I don’t see it. My answer to this stagecraft has been what you consistently see me showing and proving in real life.

A New Release!

On September 16th I quietly released my 13th book "When Teachers are ready, their Students appear." I say quietly because I did it at 4am in the morning. A middle of the night book release is literally saying I do this while others sleep and there is nothing theatrical, flamboyant or spectacular about that. As a journalist and author my intention has always been to simply make information accessible to people, not sell books, win a Pulitzer Prize or be on Oprah's book club list. Book sales and testimonials have come as a result of this information accessibility and I am very thankful for that.

In a society where it is often expected for students to be properly prepared to learn [information], I always understood that our educators must be properly prepared to teach. Oftentimes that is not the case in mainstream society. Over the years of having Knowledge of Self [KOS] I also found that it can be true within my society of Five Percenters. When Teachers are ready, their Students appear is a series of essays pertaining to teaching and gaining KOS from the cultural perspective of a Five Percenter.

This book is now available along with my other titles at my E-Store, Amazon, Amazon Kindle, book outlets worldwide and my website Quanaah Publishing. If you have a family member who is incarcerated that you would like to send a copy to please email me at: atlantisbuild@gmail.com.

I appreciate your support!
